About me
Welcome! I am a consulting psychologist in the field of trauma and resilience building and run my own consulting firm called Resilience Associates, working with trauma organizations in Israel (NATAL and Mahut Israel) and internationally (Center of Mind Body Medicine) As former director of the Resilience Unit at Metiv-ICTP I have worked internationally in trauma stricken communities in Biloxi, MS, Haiti, Mexico, Spain and most recently in Nepal.
I love travelling, writing and cooking (in that order), and my absolutely favorite thing to do is to scuba dive from a “live aboard” with my husband, children and grandchildren. A close second is hiking with the family which today includes seven kids and spouses as well as a gaggle of grandchildren. Recent travel took us East to the Maldives and Southern India where we practiced lots of yoga! and I learned to cook idli!
I began to travel slowly towards mid-life. Before that, I was eager, like most people I know, to see as much as I could in as little time as possible.
I am not sure if it is the white hairs (there are many) or the wrinkles (there are many more of those), but as I began to travel slowly, my enjoyment grew. I started this blog to encourage people to slow down, stop and savor. If you are curious about slow travel, read my Seven Rules for Slow Travel. If you think this type of travel may not be for you, you will likely still enjoy my blogposts that highlight my travels.
